The purpose of the celebratory event is to commemorate the federal holiday marked as the anniversary of the day that African Americans learned of the Emancipation Proclamation and thier freedom. The MLK Jr. Commemorative Commission will host a series of activites and uplifting events to celebrate amongst community members.
